I got this in an email earlier this week. Thought it was priceless! I may give this one a try this fall...on a Sunday...during football season!

WOMEN'S REVENGE
"Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet, I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.
"No," she replied, "but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally."

Naked apples

Cade: Mom, I want a naked apple.

Me: What?

Cade: I WANT a naked apple.

Me: Show me what you want.

Cade: Goes to the fridge, takes out an apple and tells me, "I want all this yucky stuff off", pointing to the peel.

Me: You want a peeled apple?

Cade: Yes.

Glad we got that straightened out.

Birthday Pics

(Just FYI.... this house behind Mike and Cody is listed for a mere $950,000! Can you imagine?!)

Caden had a great day yesterday. Mike and I bought him a set of Junior Cobra clubs for his big day. He was so surprised! All he kept telling us he wanted for his birthday were clubs just like Cody's. So, that's what he got! He had so much fun trying them out last night at the club. I can't tell you how proud I was to see grown men watching Caden hit the ball on the driving range and then shake their heads in disbelief or getting a laugh after seeing him hit the ball! And of course Caden let everyone out there know 2 things: 1) He was 5 years old; and 2) He got new Cobra clubs for his birthday! He was just too cute!

5 years old and so brave!!

It is amazing how turning from 4 to 5 will make a child so much more braver! Case in point.... Caden decided that today would be the day that he would get serious about learning to ride his bike without training wheels! I took his training wheels off his bike months ago, but he just never got interested in trying to ride his bike without the safety net of the training wheels!

I am proud to say that Cade could ride from our driveway to our neighbors driveway without falling! He did so well!

Also, here is a close-up of Cade's new smile. While eating an apple the other day he noticed that his tooth was very loose. He actually let me pull it (it was barely hanging on) with Cody's encouragement. He was so excited of this milestone. Of course the tooth fairy paid him a visit! He has found another loose tooth and is wiggling it as often as he remembers to! This child is going to be toothless just to get a visit from the tooth fairy! :)

Hallelujah, Paris is Free

Paris is finally free! Now can we get on with all of the important matters in the world....like the war, economy, and health care?
Can't wait to see the news story line up tonight. Where will the major news shows place the Paris Hilton story.... before or after a story about the war? Ugh.

First memory: Tipping over my brother's baby bassinet.... with him in it! I remember that I ran and hid behind the couch afterwards. Falling out of the bassinet may explain a few things about my brother....no, I am just kidding!

Last really funny thing you did: I was playing with Caden earlier making silly faces. I guess I was pretty funny to him. Anyone else would have thought I was losing my mind!

Last thing you watched on TV: Wife Swap, and then Mike came home and changed it to The Golf Channel. Yeah.

Last Halloween costume: I have no idea!

Last concert attended: Cody's 5th grade orchestra concert!

We're home!

The kids and I arrived home this evening from our trip to my parent's. We had a great time. We stayed so busy!

Our trip actually started on Tuesday from Borger after Cody's golf tournament. He played well. The conditions were pretty poor with cool winds and a constant sprinkling of rain. The group in front of Cody played so slowly. We were averaging about 30 minutes per hole and after a couple of hours, we had only moved about 5 holes! Finally a member from the golf tournament came and spoke with the group in front of Cody's and the game picked up from there. Cody shot an 82 and placed 6th. He had a good time as always. Here are a couple of pictures.

Caden also had a good time "exploring". I think he found the world's largest dandelion!

After the tournament we drove to Shawnee, OK (about 45 minutes from Oklahoma City) and stayed the night at a lovely Motel 6. The kids were so excited to be in Oklahoma! (That's a joke for my Papa! Hook-'em-Horns!)

The kids and I passed through the home towns of Carrie Underwood, Checotah, OK; Troy Aikman, Henryetta, OK; and Garth Brooks, Yukon, OK.

(Today as we were driving back through Yukon we came upon a thunder storm... (remember, it's the home town of Garth Brooks)... and guess what was playing on the radio..... The Thunder Rolls.... by Garth Brooks! What a coincidence was all of that?! By the way, when I told Cody that we were driving though Garth Brooks' home town....he asked, "who is Garth Brooks?". I responded, dumbfounded, "Are you kidding me?" Kids these days, they don't even know who Garth Brooks is! He knew who Carrie Underwood is, though! :)

He totally surprised me with these new "tricks" he has learned! He has no fear of the water, which can be a good thing, and a bad thing!

We woke up the next morning and finished our trip to my parent's. It was nice to break up the trip. (Today's drive ended up being close to 10 hours! I think from now on, I will break up the trip both ways. It is too hard on the kids and on me!)

On Thursday my parents and I drove into Little Rock and went to the Arkansas Museum of Discovery (http://www.amod.org/). It is similar to Amarillo's Discovery Center, only much bigger! There we watched Tom Noddy perform some amazing bubble tricks! He was really entertaining and could blow the most amazing bubbles.

Afterwards, Cody and Caden had some fun playing with the exhibits.

Of course our trip wouldn't be complete without a little golf! We found a driving range about 15 minutes from my parents that the boys went to a couple of times.

On Saturday we all drove to Heber Springs and went to Lindsey's Resort (http://www.lindseysresort.com/) and had a great lunch with Ted, Luann, and Taylor (my uncle, aunt, and cousin) in Ted and Lu's new camper. My wonderful cousin/photographer took some pictures of the boys on the river and near a running water-wheel. I can't wait to see the pictures, I know they are going to be beautiful! (I will be sure and share the pictures as soon as I can!) The kids spent part of the afternoon swimming at the resort's pool. They had a lot of fun! I don't have any pictures to share of the day! My camera was full of other photos and videos! We all had a great time, though.

That's basically our trip in a scaled down version. We had a great time. It was sad to leave today, but we are grateful for the time that we were able to spend with my parents and family. We are also very grateful and thankful for the safe trip!

This is all for now! It is 11:36, and I've been working on this for way too long! The screen is becoming blurry, so I am sure that is a sign that I need to go to BED! :)
